Maybe a double elimination tourny with teams of 2! Over a period of 2 days or something? |

I was thinking over a few weeks kinda like KASL so that everyone could fit it into their schedules. Course getting 2 people together is hard enough. 4 is gonna be next to impossible. So ye lets have a vote on what day works best for people. Maybe a Friday evening? Saturday evening?

Once upon a time there were 2v2s in FYS Team Tournament. In the first week none of the 2v2 games were played because it was impossible to get four people to show up at one point in time given a weeks time. All 2v2s were eliminated for the remaining five weeks of the tournament. At least it allowed Destro and I to get a forfeit win.
Moral of the story- 2v2s don't work over a period of time. Weekend tournaments are better for that. You can either make it or you can't.
Maybe if you would actually play 2s instead of just wanting to play stupid 3s with monkey juice! /facepalm EDIT- nvm TP combo sucks

That didn't work very well for the KASL. Most people lost interest in the tournament before the finals took place. As Dark Lord said, the best chances for getting tournament participation would be to hold it over a single weekend, or maybe even a single day. For anyone interested, there was a 2v2 tournament hosted a while back on the Armory. Some of the players who signed up later became Grandmaster players, and the tournament was successful. http://sc2armory.com/forums/topic/18597

Considering the last post in this thread was last November, it doesn't seem like seem like Stroid is interested in hosting a 2v2 tournament.
However if Stroid, or anyone else, is interested in hosting a tournament I would suggest just making a tournament thread and see how many people sign up. Threads asking for interest rarely result in a successful tournament, whether or not there is interest a tournament |
