	Ask anything about Diablo 3 beta Your questions will be answered I recently got invited to Diablo 3 F&F beta invite. At this point in time I will be answering any questions the community has about Diablo 3 beta. Dump your questions here, either if you are a new member or old, and I will gladly answer them. There is no such thing as 'too many questions'. The way this works is that at end of each week I will answer as many questions as I can regarding beta. I will also be updating this thread frequently on small beta facts that has not reached public knowledge. All you have to do is sign in, leave a comment with your questions, and I'll reply to them. Beta facts: *September 13th, 2011* - It is possible to have more than one hireling. - Healing potions have a 30 second cooldown; no more spamming of potions like in Diablo 2. - New item - Scroll of Companion: Summons a friendly creature that picks up nearby gold as it moves. - Gore is explicit; blood spatters all over your character durring battle. - No information has been said on The Fallen Star and what its purpose is. We'll have to wait until the game's release. *September 17th, 2011* - Some of the classes and genders have European accents. - The Demon Hunter can not use 2-handed weapons (With the exception of a 2-handed bow or crossbow) - The Necromancer class makes a cameo apperance in one of the quests. - There are no runes or diamonds in beta. - Anytime someone enters a game you are in they become automacily in your party. You can not ban or dismember someone from a party. *October 05, 2011* - Some of the sounds from Diablo 2 have been recycled into Daiblo 3 Beta. - Journal and dialogue in the game suggest that Leah is the daughter of Aidan (Dark Wanderer) - Every class except the Demon Hunter has potential for melee or close combat strategies. - The numbers on your Numeric keypad provide dialogue for each class, just like in Diablo 2. - Completing the entire beta (searching every inch of the map & killing all monsters) can take an average 3 hours for any given class and reaching level 9 by the time you defeat the Skeleton King. Beta Class Builds: (Level 13 Builds) *September 15th, 2011* Spirit Doctor (Witch Doctor) Description: A Spirit Doctor primarily focuses on Spirit skills. These skills allow beneficial abilities such as crowd control and unit manipulation. Build Roll: Battlefield Spellcaster Pros: Complete control over the battlefield. Cons: Time consuming build; requires at least one allie/hireling to assist you on the battlefield. Micromanagement: Very High Vulnerability: Low Overall Damage Output: Medium -Damage Vs AI's: Medium -Damage Vs Boss: Medium Skill tree: Haunt - The backbone to this build; this ability alone is your main damage output. Spirit Walk - Excellent for escaping or bypassing enemies. Horrify - Beneficial skill to this build; Keeps your enemies distant, leaving you safe from harm. Hex - A support skill that disables your enemies and makes them vulnerable. Spiritual Attunement - Passive Ability; Keeps your mana intact with your skill output. Spellblade (Wizard) Description: A Spellblade primarily focuses on a melee Wizard. With the proper skills, weapons and armor, your Wizard will become an effiecnent and powerful force in the center of the battlefield. Build Roll: Medium Assault Warrior Pros: A primary assault class that can tank a lot of damage and return the pain with melee weaponry. Cons: Very little DPS during large skirmishes/battles. Micromanagement: Low Vulnerability: Medium Overall Damage Output: Medium -Damage Vs AI's: High -Damage Vs Boss: Medium Skill Tree: Wave of Force or Frost Nova - A 'panic button' ability; If your enemies get a strong grip or surround on you, use this ability to prevent any problems. Diamond Skin - The ultimate tanker ability that allows you to become almost invulnerable and impervious to attacks. Good ability vs bosses. Magic Weapon - The back bone to this build; enhances your Wizard's melee attack by a % of your weapon damage. Ice Armor or Storm Armor - The primary skill to defend yourself against hordes of units attacking you. Temporal Flux - Passive skill; Slows your enemie's movement whenever you attack them. *September 18th, 2011* AoE Barb (Barbarian) Description: An AoE Barb primarily focuses on heavy AoE (Area of Effect) damage output. These skills allow massive and destructive force to be done to hordes of enemies. Build Roll: Heavy Offensive Warrior Pros: Deals an extraordinarily amount of AoE damage to compact hordes of enemies, making him/her ideal for the front of the battlefield. Cons: The majority of skills require little or no fury to be spent, making him/her less efficient as a standard barbarian. Micromanagement: High Vulnerability: High Overall Damage Output: High -Damage Vs AI's: Very High -Damage Vs Boss: Low Skill tree: Cleave - Primary attack; decent melee splash damage. Leap Attack - Closes the distance between your enemies; leaps in the center of of the horde. Ground Stomp - Deals melee AoE damage/stun in a 360 direction. Rend - Deal extensive AoE damage in a 360 direction. Pound of Flesh - Passive; increase the chance of an Orb of Life dropping, thus giving you more HP when in need. Arcane Wizard (Wizard) Description: An Arcane Wizard primarily focuses on arcane spellcasting. These skills allow support in the battlefield as well as heavy damage output vs hordes of units. Build Roll: Heavy Spellcaster Support Pros: Large variety of destructive arcane force, suitable for almost any battle. Cons: Requires at least one allie/hiring for support; drains a lot of energy, thus proving inaffecting for periods of time. Micromanagement: High Vulnerability: Very High Overall Damage Output: Medium -Damage Vs AI's: High -Damage Vs Boss: Very Low Skill tree: Frost Nova - When hordes of enemies get a surround, this ability provides good use. Electrocute - Splash damage skill; great vs large quantity of units. Arcane Orb - Backbone to this build; Heavy AoE damage vs compact units. Disintegrate - A powerful beam that inflicts a steady damange output. Glass Cannon - Passive; increases the damage output of your abilities while lowering your armor/resistance. *September 23rd, 2011* Sharp Shooter (Demon Hunter) Description: A Sharp Shooter primarily focuses a balanced damage output towards any category of enemies. These skills allow the Demon Hunter to support a skirmish/battle in a standard, authentic way which brings forth the ideal role of a ranged class. Build Roll: Ranged Assault Pros: Deals a strong output of damage to all enemies, making him/her a balanced for any situation. Cons: Requires heavy micromanagement to use for maximum potential. Micromanagement: Very High Vulnerability: Medium Overall Damage Output: High -Damage Vs AI's: High -Damage Vs Boss: High Skill tree: Caltrops - Primary defense skill; a trap that slows down enemies and does damage over time. Keeps them distance from you. Impale - Enhances your attack to do massive damage to enemies, ideal for bosses or tankers. Evasive Fire - Primary skills; Does high DPS and enhanced damage; backflips away if enemies get to close. Chakram - Throws a large swirling Chakram, dealing AoE damage infront of you. Steady Aim - Passive; Enhances all ranged damage by 10% Vermin Doctor (Witch Doctor) Description: A Vermin Doctor primarily focuses vermin offensive abilities. These skills allow the Witch Doctor to press the attack with vermin creatures/rodents /w much AoE damage. Build Roll: Heavy Spellcaster Pros: A large vairiety of skills to lay down brutal force on hordes of enemies. Cons: Drains a lot of mana over a short period of time, rendering ineffective durring the duration of returning mana. Micromanagement:Medium Vulnerability: High Overall Damage Output: High -Damage Vs AI's: High -Damage Vs Boss: Medium Skill tree: Corpse Spiders - Throws a vase a long distance; on impact, spiderlings pop out and do physical damage to enemies over a short period of time and hordes at bay. Firebats - Primary skill; does heavy, short range splash fire damage to your target location. Plague of Toads - Unleashes toads that do mass AoE. Explodes on impact leaving toxins in the air to poison your enemies. Summon Zombie Dogs - Keeps your forces at bay and tanking the damage for you. Vermin - Passive; Increases the damage done by 10% to all vermin skills. *October 05, 2011* AoE Monk (Monk) Description: An AoE Monk primarily focuses on heavy AoE damage output. These skills allow the Monk to not only withstand mass hordes of units but to destroy his/her enemies with ease. Build Roll: Medium Assault Warrior Pros: Deals heavy AoE damage to compact hordes of enemies. Cons: None. Micromanagement:Medium Vulnerability: Medium Overall Damage Output: Medium -Damage Vs AI's: High -Damage Vs Boss: Low Skill tree: Cripple Wave - Primary skill; This skill alone is your source of damage output that does crippling AoE damage. This skill works as a 3-punch combo. Dashing Strike - Closes the distance between you and your enemies, getting you into the center of battle to deal AoE. Lashing Tail Kick - A powerful splash damage kick-attack that knocks back your enemies. Mantra of Evasion - An aura that grants 30% dodge to enemie attacks, making you less vulnerable to attack in the core of battle. Transcendence - Passive; grants HP for X amount of spirit spent.

	ok, im assuming you've tried out all the classes a bit, so how fluid was the berserker/warrior class? was it kind of clunky or did everything go together well? in the same vein, how was the witch doctor as a class? was he spammy or was he more like big spells over a longer period of time?

	Q: when playing have you felt that some of the abilities are as they are now not very useful? Q:Is there a set advantage to the type and number of weapons you use such as two one handed are better than a two handed, or better to have a shield over second weapon? Q:Do you find the game overly linear? Such as do you feel that the areas are not random enough, or that it feels repetitive go through the areas. 	Have you played as each race? If so which was your favourite? Also did you encounter anything you felt didnt fit in or felt out of place? What were your thought on the summon that picks up gold? Sounds well... Good as gold

	Which do you think would be better for dealing damage as the Monk class? Building for critical strike and dodge chance? or building for attack speed to build Spirit faster, to unleash your combos more often?

	How are items ranked in rarity in terms of the color of the text of the item you pick up from least rare to most rare? grey->white->blue->yellow->green->gold grey->white->blue->yellow->brown Are green items quest items?

	Answer me, questions three. Question the first: What is the quickest way to return to town. Are there scrolls like previous installments? I recall seeing some sort of portal function built onto the interface like the Cauldron or Cube, but that could be ages ago. Question the second: Since spells and abilities are automatically unlocked, do they also progressively become stronger over time? Question the third: Do you find yourself using around 2-4 abilities for most circumstances? Bonus question: Sex; are you versed in it? /O

The Witch Doctor can be both spammy or big spells. For example, if you are a spiritual Witch Doctor, you are constantly spamming your spirit abilities before your enemies can attack/injure you. If you're a summoner, all you do is sit back and let your summons do your dirty work. Yes and no. For starters, I have not been able to use every single ability for each class, simply because I can only reach level 13. The abilities on each class all have their own unique feel that adds dept to the class. The problem though is knowing when, where and how to use these abilities. It takes adjusting and time to learn the right combinations of skills so they can balance your character to become a much more efficient fighter. It's similar to Diablo 2's skill style, yet also much different. I think the answer to this question is more preferable to the player, as having two weapons increases your DPS, while having a two-handed weapon increases your overall damage. At this point on in the beta, EVERYTHING feels repetitive simply because I've played through each dungeon and location over 50 times already. However, yes, everything is very linear. The dungeons, entrances, doodads, hallways, rooms, etc. are all located differently around the map and realm of your environment. on 13/9/11Quote by editor_in_chimp Have you played as each race? The Witch Doctor, despite being a very powerful class, has a lot of odd skills that don't necessarily seem powerful as the other classes. I find myself unsure of what combinations of skills I should use on my hotkeys for the Witch Doctor do to the random and somewhat absurd skills he has. on 13/9/11Quote by editor_in_chimp What were your thought on the summon that picks up gold? Sounds well... Good as gold I'm currently loving the the summoned creature that picks up gold. I keep the scrolls on my hotkey list so I have quick access to it. The creature lasts for around 3-5 minutes until it's duration runs out. Preferably, I'd stick with attack speed as your primary offense. There are no town portal scrolls such as in it's previous games. Instead, we now gain the Stone of Recall, which takes somewhere between 5-10 seconds to cast you back to town (leaving you immobile and vulnerable to attack). A lot of the abilities that are used in Diablo 3 work well with other ones, where you are required to use a combination of skills during battle to kill your enemies quicker and efficiently. on 14/9/11Quote by dinobot Bonus question: Sex; are you versed in it? 	To play Diablo2 you shouldn't had to have obligatory internet connection to play single player. Is diablo3 same? or it is like starcraft2 , even to play single player campaign i have to have internet connection? Does all classes feel equally powerful or not? (if no, which classes you consider being weaker or stronger, at least in first levels of the game and why)

They don't want people to have offline and online characters, and they can't merge them because duping is too easy, and with the real money auction house, that would cause legal problems.

	Welcome Dowser =) Perhaps consider making an enlist thread here. What are all the different kinds of stats and attributes we can gain with gear? attack damage, attack speed, cooldowns, increased spell power, armor, any kind of armor penetration or ignoring enemy's reduced damage?
