Hell's Wrath
The drones had finally figured out how to fix his starchart by looking at the working one in the nexus. Seeing no reason to keep the structure standing, Gorgen personally melted down the nexus with his acid. Over the last couple of days his brood had regained its former stregnth. He was almost ready to depart this world.
Soon all of his forces were loaded onto his flagship. He departed the worthless world, a flock of mutas flanking his ship.
Then he felt it again. That tickleing down his spine, alerting him to his benafactor's presense. {You learned your lesson on this planet I assume.}
{Yes indeed.}
{Good. Now proceed to New Flosom. You objective is an infested terran named Aria, who has somehow gained control of her own brood.}
{You want me to eliminate her?}
{No, I want you to steal her away for me. Upon reaching New Flosom, you are to wait for one of my generals. She will be the one you will transfer this Aria to, so we can control her and her brood. My general, Lorn, will contact you. She is in controll of a fleet of protoss, so do not mistake her for an enemy.}
{I will not fail.}
{That is wise of you.}
The feeling left. Gorgen wondered who this Lorn was, and what she would bring to this fight.
SOA: Hinting a little at the unkown NPC that will arive for the raid. Leaving for New Flosom, will arrive in 5 posts, and then hold until NPC arrives (which means I will hold until everyone else arrives.)
The instilations of the Cobra Bay had been sucessful. Sajuuk had the new squadron, who called themselves Loki's Lackies, do some formations and drills out of the bay. All the lights had been green, and Sajuuk had completed the payment. The ship was underway.
Right now he was in the hanager bay, talking to the fighter pilots. Right now they were examing his Falcon.
"That ain't no normal bird." That was the Leader of the new group. Sajuuk couldn't remember his name.
"No she isn't. This baby of mine can outfly, out gun, and outperform any of yours. She's got titanimum class hall, for extra protection, plus a 25 cm thick hull. She's got Jettson Ionized Engines instead of the regular Heaven Twin engines. Her gattling cannon is replaced with a slug launcher, which fires a concentrated burst off 10cm thick uranium depeted shells at the target. Unfortunatly, this means she can't quite hit as far as a regualar viking, but she can pack a way stronger punch. Instead of having Apallo class missles she's got Artemetis Armor Piercing Missles. These babies will go straight through armor before detonating, causing maxinum damage. Also due to their shape, the cause a lot of shrapenel in a concentrated area do deal massive damage to zerg organisms. This also reduces her range, but with a personal cloaking device this girl can get close enough to get the kill."
After that long speach about the prowness of his ship, the new squad wolf whislted apreciably. "Dang, you make our ships look like old pieces of junk. When did they come out with these newer models." Apollo, that was his name.
"About 4 years ago, when a confederate general custom made his own fighter. I stole the fighter and killed him, in that order. There happened to be a price tag in this fighter: 526,879 credits. I doubt anyone would want to produce that when they can get a couple hundred regular fighters. I mean, this thing has leather seats! No, my Falcon is a one of a kind ship."
They looked a little taken aback by the price. "No wonder why we haven't seen these yet. And I was thinking about dumping my contact. I'll play a game of poker with that on the line."
"Not a chance. You don't have anything I want. So keep on drooling, Apollo."
Then another pilot, a female who went by Athena asked "Hey Sajuuk, whats the real mission?"
Sajuuk had noticed that these guys never seemed to care about rank, though they followed orders. It also took him a few seconds to process the question. "What do you mean, what is the real mission? Didn't you read the sign, the document, and listen to what Soban had to say?"
"Yah, that was a great story. Full of BS, but great none the less. I have to admit, we were a little tipsy as usual, but your story was the greatest by far. I mean, everyone who recruits there BS compeletly, but you had such an interesting story. That will make you a lot more fun than the other captians."
Sajuuk was rather taken aback by this response, but when he considered it he realized it had an odd core of logic behind it. And they were somewhat correct, almost everyone BS on that world.
"Well I hate to break it to you guys, but I was not BSing. Not one bit. And I'll prove it to you. Sparky, please come here." The probe had just floated into the cobra bay entrance.
The little thing floated up to the group. "What is it captian meathead? I have a-"
"Very busy schedual of insutling everyone and causing paranoia, yes I know. Now please explain to this group your favorite job." Behind Sajuuk the group was whispering.
"Delighted to, captian corndog. I am Sparky 646, and I am a torturing probe. I have a variety of ways of doing this: from physical pain..." Several appendages whirled out, showing saw blades, needles, electrical poles, hot plates, and other instraments of torture. Many had old blood stains on them. "...To visual tormenting pain..." A holo shot out, showing the last victom Sparky had seen, so the group got a full display of Maga eating Goben. "...To my personal favorite, the brain cap." The probe seemed to fold in on itself, and looked like a cap. "When like this, I can scan your mind to find everything most painful to you, and force you to replay it in your mind in crystal clear high deaf. I will force you to remain awake, slowly driving you insane. And I will enjoy every moment of it, never getting frustrated. Oh, and since you foolish meatbags just saw my master in all his glory, you best keep your mouth shut about him and make sure this raid to rescue that infested terran works. Otherwise, you might be next to be eaten. Well, I'm off to torment some other members of the crew. It's been nice talking to you, lunkheads." With that, the probe scooted off, leaving stupified terrans in its wake.
"Any other questions?"
There was a stunned silence for a while. Then Apollo said "I need a drink bad." The others followed suite. Sajuuk grinned. It was always fun breaking greenhorns in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few hours later.
"And that is how we became outlaws. It's nothing compared to the tails we will forge in this ship though." Apollo slammed the empty mug down, next to a stack of empty beer bottles. "Hit me."
"No, orders are 6 drinks are the limit. Get your own booze."
"You ever here of the greek god Dyaonis. My favorite quote from him is "Drink and Party, for tomarrow we may die." Despite slurring his words, the man was still inteligable.
"Our survival missions as they are, you have to pay for the next drinks, and you can't drink them for the next hour. They are sealed in such a way that you can't open them, and that's that. So are you going to buy something."
"Give me five cases. That should be enough to last me to this week. Here's my card. Keep the change."
The bartender did, giving himself a huge bonus. "Here you go, now stumble back to your quaters."
Apollo did just that, swaying as he carried the crates back. It was a miracle none of them left his hands. "I can't wait to tell my children about the stories I will get from here. Now I just need children."
He stumbled into the joint quaters of Apollo and Athena. "Hey honey, I bring gifts!" He then noticed her passed out on the bed, beer bottle in hand. "Ah well, she got here ahead of me."
He managed to put the cases down before slipping. Upon landing on the floor, he found it quite comfortable, and promtly fell asleep. This wasn't the first time something like this had happened.
Elsewhere on the Nubaal
Sajuuk was walking with Soban. "It's all very ironic, this situation."
"How so sir?"
"You have the three of us. Look at two of us, and you'd think they are monsters. One would be correct, and one would be wrong. Of all the species we will represent, the Zerg are the most...admirable."
"And?"
"And the universe is turning on its head. Monsters out save the universe. Maybe its just so we can have fun later on, but here we are, with billions of lives resting on our hands. We are little players, the wrong people for the job.
Where is Jim Raynor? He's out pursing revenge. He is the right guy for this, Hell, he already saved the universe once by helping to kill the Overmind. So why is he there and us here?"
"Maybe you have got it wrong sir. Maybe, sometimes monsters are the only ones who can save the Universe. If Raynor had been in your position, he would be dead already, and would have taken out part of Maga's forces. Aria would have no chance of rescue.
Look, we all have darkers sides that most of us don't want to acknowledge. But sometimes you need those darker sides. Only Ceaser by being a dictator could save Rome. Only a Mensk could have rebuilt the terran army so much to protect us. Sometimes what the universe needs are Dark Heroes."
Sajuuk stopped. "Maybe. I don't by it yet, but maybe."
"Besides you are looking at it the wrong way. You shouldn't be asking if monsters can save the universe. You should ask if monsters can become better."
Sajuuk grinned at that. "That is the all important question. 'To be or not to be a monster' eh? Well, I'll see what I can do. Maybe I can finally step out of Raynor's Shadow."
"Sajuuk, he's already stepped somewhat into yours. Try to be better."
The two men parted company, and went to sleep.
SOA:
Sajuuk and the Nubaal leave for New Flosom. Five posts to reach it. Minor character development.
Hell's Wrath
Gorgen was board, waiting for things to happen. He had tried to releave his bordom by viewing more history in the artifact, but that hadn't helped at all.
So now he was deciding to check in on his Marshalls. See how his swarm was evolving on Pulsing Emerald.
{Marshall Zargoth.}
{My lord?}
{How is my brood progressing?}
{Well, my lord. Your roaches and hydralisks are showing signs of better mortar functions, allowing for faster move speeds.}
{Excellent. I shall see them myself when I return to pulsing Emerald.}
{As you will my lord.}
Feeling slightly better, Gorgen began to view history again.
SOA: A hint at how my swarm will evolve after the raid.
OC: From now on, I'm probably gonna only read the SOAs of your posts, so make sure to write everything important there. Also, if all of you could PM me of anything that you still need me to do/approve/etc, for I have forgotten all of them
"Hasten the search. The queen awaits success in the mission."
The overseers were frenetically searching for the infestation spawns. Groups of zerglings were also dispatched underground the surface of Aria to locate it faster. Kerrigan has ordered Medusa to find and retrieve these infestation spawns, which contains the key DNA to create a special structure. Only a few broods have recently found this new DNA, so it was the queen's top priority to relocate it to the core hive in Char.
"Commander, we detected signs of a terran ship. Should we engage?"
Medusa thought for a moment. It would only take a few hours to destroy the ship and resume the mission. However, that was a few hours that would delay the zerg's prime evolution.
"Negative. Do not engage the terrans unless they open fire. I'd much prefer it if it just passes by."
She was sure the terran ship would just flee, but just in case, she gave orders for the air forces to pause their search and patrol near the levaithan. The terran's deserved to be ripped apart to shreds if they were foolish enough to oppose the swarm.
SOA: Medusa is looking for an item at Aria. Chaos lord should pm me about what he will do about it.
OC: since you guys are not posting, Ill just kill all your heros and play god jk
Agria, Orbit
The 2 large flagships engaged each other over the war torn battlefield of Agria. As The Eclipse moved withing range of its devastating Zeus Cannons, the zerg Leviathan also prepared for engagement. On the ground, things were getting chaotic. The Dominion was despairingly trying to hold onto its base while being assailed from all side by the Zerg and The Death Wing
In orbit, things were starting to look good as The Eclipse started to draw ahead in the space conflict.
"Keep up the good work James." Alex said.
"Yes sir" James replied. "We have a damaged engine and our missiles pods 1-5 hav- Uh sir?"
"What is it?"
"Well it seems that a protoss vessel has just entered atmosphere."
"Damnit, we cant fight 2 enemies at once."
"Sir! We are also detecting a large terran fleet entering as well"
"with any luck, that will be able to hold off our protoss enemies for awhile."
As the 2 mighty fleets collided over the south pole, The Eclipse was still trying to finish off the Leviathan. As Alex saw victory within sight, suddenly the protoss flagship came up behind The Eclipse while Kyrin's ship also appeared.
"Sir, the protoss vessel is attempting communications"
"Bring it up James" Alex said.
"You and your fleet shall leave at once terran or risk being burned to the ground"
"Well, thats not my fleet over there" Alex replied.
"Nevertheless, you will tell them to back off or be incinerated"
