You may have noticed by now, but the header of the site is a lot shorter than it used to be. To keep it simple, I removed the login/user box at the top right and the media/community latest at the top left. All of the user information was moved into the top right bar (since it was duplicating information anyways) and the community latest was moved into the forum index and search page.

The header was simply taking too much vertical layout space and was in the sites best interest to remove it to move the content up. I also wanted to encourage users to use the "view new posts" link more, as that data is more current than the community latest is.

If it is not rendering correctly, press ctrl + f5 in your browser!

Haha that was fast and extremely awesome.

But dont worry everyone, the site will be getting a new design sometime around the fall (hopefully!).

I think the background for the new community latest should be darkened. It seems out of place.

Oh well, kind of awkward to look at, but in time will get used to it.

I am indifferent as all changes are accompanied by equivalent sacrifices.

I like the new changes, more substance less filler. I like the link to the new posts, i always new it was there I just never felt like going threw the process of getting there.

Funny how the guy who fixes and keeps the site running is coincedently named gears lol

It took me a while to find the new log in. I wonder how other users will cope. Some will get it instantly and it may take up to ten minutes to figure out what's going on. Maybe you should make it... idk... brighter so it stands out more?

Yeah this is my main gripe at the moment also. I am looking into ways to make this better.

Maybe move the login to between community activity and friends? or above community activity.

Well i agree with some of these changes, but what's going to happen to the posts that were already in the recent posts section? I think you might have to reopen it since they don't have anywhere else to go, it's not like they can just go back in with the other posts!
